“These concrete ‘human road drempel' figures are life-sized silhouettes of people. They are intended to operate metaphorically as absorbers of life. Viewers are encouraged to walk over the top and feel the sounds that resonate out of the forms. They contain two types of sounds... organic sounds of human breathing and burping, etc as well as sounds from nature, such as the wind. I see the condition of the figures as a certain kind of state of being able to absorb conditions and at the same time having a system to cope.” RH
